The War of Art
I started reading this November 30th, after hearing it mentioned on one of Merlin Mann's podcasts. I'm thus far smitten.
The opening, titled "What I Do," is a fairly accurate discription of the life I crave. Well, minus the part about the truck.
I'll write more when I'm done reading.

At...
... a Robert McKee STORY seminar. Holy shit, I just admitted that in public.
Actually, I think Rivkah recommended it on her blog once, too.
Anyhoo, Leland has a real affection for books like this, on artmaking, so I've read a few of them now. Most of them are related to visual art, but I'm finding that they're very relevant for writing, too. Two of his favorites that I got a lot out of are Art & Fear, by Bayles & Orland, and The Art Spirit, by Robert Henri. Henri was a dude.
Also? Lovely to "see" you here on Vox! :)
