Nikol is looking for volunteer knitters and designers for knitwear burlesque show. Details here.
Wherein I nerd out on business only of interest to knitters:
- I love, love, love the new Berroco booklet that was advertised in my e-mail this morning, Yin & Yang. Okay, well, I don't love the vests. The vests are hideous. But the Sanpoku cardigan? That cardigan is lovely and wearable. There's something... I don't know -- Eileen Fisher, maybe? -- about it. It also reminds of some of the more unusual pieces I've picked up at anthropologie. (I pooh-poohed Eileen Fisher for ages. I thought it was too "comfortable" to be chic on anyone but an elderly Japanese sculptor. I was wrong.)
- My Jordana Paige satchel arrived! Just in time to go with me to Excelsior Springs for the weekend. I can't wait.
- Speaking of the retreat, I learned the German twisted long tail cast on for my glove class and I have to say I love the edge it produces. It might be my new favorite cast on.
No good comes from cyber stalking being a devoted fan.
At some point you cross a line and you start thinking you have a relationship with your victim hero. And when they pull the internet equivalent of not returning your calls -- not posting to their blog for more than a month -- you're hurt. You start to wonder what you did wrong.
Was it something I said, Eunny?
I'm participating in the Runagogo Run-along and the We Call Them Pirates Knitalong.
- Laptop bag
- Lil' Mynx removable dance pole
- Alex + Chloe "Brunette" necklace -- which I promptly misplaced. I am inconsoleable.
- 6 French Dressing hidden scoopneck camisoles (black, white, nude, pink, green, brown)
- PS2 SSX Snowboard game and Snowboard accessory thingie. I can now pretend I am my hero in the comfort of my own livingroom.
- An anthropologie giftcard.
- Some $$, which I will spend on voodoo magic bullshit sneakers (MBTs) from Bliss.
- Two fantastic jackets and a skirt, all three of which I love, but all three are two big for me! Which, I suppose, is it's own gift, but kind of a bummer nonetheless.
- A garden tool kit.
- A coffee vacuum cannister.
- A basket for cut flowers.
- A shawl.
- Some books from my wishlist.
- A mini tripod thingie (yay!!)
- A Rudolf nightlight of awesomeness.
- ...a bunch of other goodies; far more than I deserved.
Hm.
Still.
It's so pretty. And it's bulky yarn, so it'll knit up relatively quickly.
What color do you think I should do? I'm thinking Lamb's Pride Bulky Aztec Turquoise or Aubergine. Anybody interested in a KAL? The pattern is available here.
